GROWING up in a big family gave Frank Flehan an early appreciation for large homes. So much so, that years later, the local builder and owner of Flehan Homes has made it his mission to design and construct properties with spacious and luxurious interiors.
Number 46 First Ave is no exception.
Set on a corner block, the brand new home oozes character and charm but, most importantly, a versatile and spacious floorplan that, Mr Flehan says, would suit professional couples or families.
“I come from a large family with lots of brothers and sisters. So I built big, luxurious homes that reflect where I come from,” he says. “This home is an example of that.
“While I was never going to live in this home – it’s an investment property for me – I built the house as if I was building it for myself. I put all of my feelings into it and imagined myself living there and I think the result speaks for itself.”
The single-level home is set on a 603sqm block with an appealing north-facing rear.
Inside, the versatile floorplan comprises formal and informal living spaces, two meals areas and a designer JAG kitchen with exquisite stone benchtops, Electrolux appliances, a built-in fridge and a butler’s pantry large enough to satisfy all your storage needs.
Four bedrooms, three of which come with built-in robes, are set in the front-half of the home.
The spacious master also overlooks the front garden and additionally features a walk-through robe and ensuite with dual vanities, a shower and a toilet.
The remaining bedrooms are serviced by a luxe family bathroom with a shower and a bath, dual vanities and a separate toilet.
The home also comes with a side-by-side garage and intercom access.
“It’s not your everyday home, it’s a quality build,” Mr Flehan says.
“All the joinery in the home, for example, is JAG, so it’s not just the kitchen that has spec appliances.
“We also used solid timber for the floors which are made from Tasmanian Oak, which adds a lot of warmth to the home – I don’t like properties that look plastic and cold.”
Mr Flehan says the pool and alfresco space also added an extra level of luxury and, much like the rest of the home, were executed to the highest of standards.
“I don’t always add pools to my homes but I thought it would add a little more luxury, plus it seemed like a pretty cool idea,” he says.
“It’s solar heated and overlooked by undercover entertaining space with an outdoor kitchen. It’s a great space to relax after work.
“All I want for this home is for people to walk in and feel like they deserve to be living here – because they do. If I achieve that, I’m happy.”
